David Kellen is a multifaceted performer, educator, and music business entrepreneur. In 1991, he established Studio K Music in Geneva, IL, starting as a small group piano and keyboard education facility. From this studio, Kellen has nurtured numerous musicians, many of whom have pursued successful careers in the music industry. Notably, two of his former students reached the top 20 on American Idol, while several others are now active performers in Nashville and Los Angeles.

A graduate of Northern Illinois University's School of Music, Kellen is highly regarded among school music educators for his work with jazz band pianists and has participated in countless workshops and clinics in keyboard skills and improvisation throughout the Chicago area. His forty year experience with students of all ages and playing levels has given him a plethora of experience as a piano educator.

As a performer—both solo and as a sideman—he has collaborated with some of the region's finest musicians in Chicago, including: The Cat Gaddis Project, an R&B experience, Rick Lindy and The Wild Ones, a 50s & 60s Rock & Roll band,The Paul Windsor Orchestra,Greg Bella’s Second Shot Band , Swing Assembly, and The Brian Patti Orchestra. He has performed in France, Russia, Spain, Texas, and South Carolina. His distinguished client list features major organizations such as McDonald's Corporation, The University of Chicago, Ronald McDonald Chidren's Hospital at Loyola, Harris Bank, Northern Illinois University, Thodos Dance Chicago, Searle Family Trust Fund annual meetings, The Team Companies, LLC, Medinah Country Club,The Private Bank, Olson Rugs, Chicago Contract Roofers Association, Butterfiled Country Club, CASA Kane County among many others. David has played at numerous prestigious events and venues across Chicago including The Women's Athletic Club of Chicago, Green Mill Cocktail Lounge, Le Piano Restaurant & Bar,The Palmer House Hilton,and The Drake Hotel.

Currently serving as the keyboardist for various groups like He also holds the position of Director of Music at St. Luke Lutheran Church in Itasca where he showcases his skills as an organist. Kellen has also released several CDs.

David is also the dad of Matt Kellen, a pro drummer, and Ethan Kellen, an aspiring young guitarist.
